Story of John and Belinda

Was talking to my dear friend John at one kopi tiam and he told me he is facing difficulties with his relationship and as he talk, tears just dropped.
John is a guy who dunt easily cries, in fact i never see he cry before even when he was having difficulties with his studies or family or friends.
He told me he is always trying and trying and trying to keep the relationship going, but he always face harsh words from his gf. He thinks he might be too sensitive, but then, there will be harsh words, always. He told me he always think of how to satisfy his gf in terms of materials want or service wants. But he is not complaining he did too much... He feels that he is not receiving anything.
I ask him what he wants. He only say one word. "concern"
I know he is not a greedy man, and "concern" was not too much and i tot it was just the most basic in a relationship.
What makes you think she do not care for u? I ask him.
he said he dunno, because he cant think of anything that she cares for him.
He say the topic is always on her alone, the story will always be on her alone, she is the main actress but there is always no main actor.
I was thinking that John is a "yes man" and everything her gf ask, he would say okay no problem, there were not many no for many demands.
John is definitely a easy going person. He told me his gf is not. he say he is always the okay man, but she is always the "you are wrong" woman.
John used to be very thrifty, he is the one who would walk all the way from parkway to his house because he thinks its near and there is no need for taxi.
But as he said, he is not the man he use to be. He would spend generously or even extravagently out of his own limits on his gf but his gf always think that her money is her own money and its only right that guys are the one who pay for eveything.
I guess that is nothing wrong, but can u believe she is calculative even over a few dollars when John has already spend hundreds to thousands in a few months time on her.
John loves computer gadgets though, thrifty, he would always spend generously on his pc once a year, i learn from him that he has actually got a second hand downgraded pc for the past 4 over years
I told him, it is difficult to compare him and his gf because they are suppose to blend with each other.
he told me if one party is not budging at all, how is he to blend???
He told me he cant breathe at all when he was with his gf, he was never at ease.
He told me he is not the man he used to be. He could only relax at his own home, and he told me he feels very lonely.
he just want to sleep and sleep and sleep at times, and work and work and work.
Then i ask him what he wants to do?
he told me there is nothing he can do except to walk one step, see one step.
